Complementary foods for breast milk (MP-ASI) are foods given to babies in addition to breast milk to meet their nutritional needs. MP-ASI is given from 6-24 months of age and is a transitional food from breast milk to family food. The introduction and provision of MP-ASI must be carried out in stages, both in form and quantity. Giving MP-ASI that is not quite right can lead to nutritional problems in infants when processing and giving MP-ASI correctly, so mothers are required to have sufficient knowledge so that they can create healthy babies. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between mother's knowledge and the appropriateness of giving complementary feeding (MP-ASI) to infants aged 6-24 months in Hamlet IV, Medan Krio Village, Sunggal District, Deli Serdang Regency in 2023 This type of research is an analytical survey, with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were mothers who had babies 6-24 months in Hamlet IV, Medan Krio Village. The sample in this study used accidental sampling, namely the sample was carried out by taking 30 cases or respondents who happened to be present or available in a place according to the research context. The research results showed that the majority of mothers had knowledge in the insufficient category, 15 people (50.0%). and the minority of mothers who have knowledge in the good category are 7 people (13.3%). The majority of mothers who did not give MP-ASI correctly were 20 people (66.7%) and the minority of mothers who gave MP-ASI correctly were 10 people (33.3%). There is a relationship between maternal knowledge and the accuracy of providing complementary breast milk with a p value of 0.000 < 0.05 so there is a relationship between maternal knowledge and the accuracy of providing complementary breast milk to babies aged 6-24 months in Hamlet IV, Medan Krio Village, Sunggal District, Deli Serdang Regency in 2023 The conclusion in this study is that there is a relationship of knowledge Mothers with the accuracy of giving complementary food to infants aged 6-24 months in Medan Krio Village in 2023.
